31. Text Me Baby! Mr. Phone Ninja
After my horrible experience with Mr. SoNotMyType, I decided that I really needed to go out and have fun.
By fun, I mean getting very, very drunk.
I am not much of a drinker, but I always have an interesting night when I do drink…
I received a text message from Mr. Phone Ninja the day after my binge session. I was grumpy and tired from vomiting and could not remember giving my number out to anyone…but apparently I did.
SMS:
“Hey pretty lady! Was so nice to meet you last night.”
“Um hey, was nice to meet you too! I’m still a bit drunk I think… can you remind me who you are?”
“How could you forget me? You were flirting with me all night!”
I was?
“LOL, I’m really sorry but I just can’t think straight at the moment, clue please?”
“Well you did promise to come have lunch with me today!”
“Did I? I’m really sorry but I feel a bit crappy at the mo’ can we do it tomorrow?’
He agreed.
Oh Gawd, I hope this guy is not a weirdo.
Mr. Phone Ninja had lost his bravado when we met at the local café for coffee. He was nice looking, in a boy-next-door kind of way, but was so painfully shy. He kept avoiding eye contact the whole time.
“I apologise for my behaviour the other night, I don’t drink that often, but when I do, I seem to get a bit crazy.”
“Ah, no you were fine.”
“Haha…did I say anything embarrassing?”
“Um no, no you didn’t…”
And this was pretty much how the conversation flowed…like the last drops of water in a river…it dragged on…
After the hour was up, I told him I had to leave for a doctor’s appointment. I stood up, shook his hand and said:
“It was lovely to meet you. This was nice, we should do it again sometime.”
Like maybe in 5 years…when you grow some balls.
Mr. Phone Ninja is one of many other men who are much more confident texting and talking to women – when they are drunk…which can only take you so far.
